not if you were the last offer on earth

30×40

acrylic on canvas

unframed

Part of a bigger collection exploring the themes of transition, being in a period of flux, and stepping into a new sense of self while processing the past.

This piece was inspired by the song Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth by The Dandy Warhols.

The song (even though it is about heroine addicts) resonated with me and I was listening to it a lot while making this painting. The themes of disillusionment, wit, and defiance mirrors how I’ve felt navigating work, the current job market, ambition, and ego-driven environments. I'm inspired by the ability to reclaiming power through humor, color, mark making, and self definition.
